At Mountain River Griffons, we are incredibly proud to have Hun Hill Magnum, (or as we call him, Coop) as our Wirehaired Pointing Griffon stud. Coop’s pedigree is built on a foundation of proven excellence, tracing directly back to some of the breed's most influential dogs. His grandsire, VC CH Griffe D’Automne Mr. Brown, known throughout the Griffon world as Jacque, was a true legend. Jacque was a dynamic, highly versatile field dog who earned both his AKC Conformation Championship and NAVHDA Versatile Champion titles. What set Jacque apart was his intelligence in the field. He had the rare ability to adjust his hunting style to match the terrain and the birds, ranging out in open country and working close when the cover was dense.

Jacque’s exceptional intelligence and drive came from his own sire, Palos Du Triangle de la Cote Roannaise, one of the most respected and foundational Griffons in the breed’s history. Adding to this outstanding heritage is Coop’s sire, HG’s Cota’s Keoki (CK), who proved himself in the field by earning a NAVHDA NA Prize I with a perfect score of 112 and a UT Prize II with a score of 197.

Coop has truly carried forward these outstanding qualities. He is an exceptional hunting dog with strong natural instincts, a powerful prey drive, and the athleticism to cover any ground with ease. In the field, Coop is focused, fast, and always dependable. His legacy is already shining through his puppies. Several have earned NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize I, and many have gone on to achieve Utility Prizes. We are especially proud of his son, Gauge Vaughn Mountain River, who earned the coveted NAVHDA Versatile Champion title at the 2025 NAVHDA Invitational at just 2 years and 3 months old. Gauge is the youngest dog to achieve the VC title at that event, a true testament to both his talent and the strength of Coop’s bloodline.

What we cherish most about Coop goes beyond his hunting drive. It is his heart. Like his grandsire, Coop has the true Griffon off-switch. At home, he is the very best family companion: affectionate, gentle, and wonderful with children. His fun-loving, goofy personality brings smiles to everyone, and he knows just how to relax after a day in the field.
Coop is the kind of dog who is not only a trusted hunting partner but also a best friend and a faithful member of the family. His puppies inherit his intelligence, drive, and athleticism, along with his fun-loving, easygoing nature. They truly make wonderful companions.
